Holistic Beauty: Try a Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture with Jamie Bellamy

Want to radically improve your complexion, lift and sculpt the skin, boost collagen, muscle tone and enhance your glow naturally? Try a series of Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture with TCM practitioner, Jamie Bellamy, says Judy Chapman.

The Session

The Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture delivered by Jamie Bellamy was outstanding (in fact so good that I am continuing bi-weekly sessions). Jamie’s treatment includes a pulse diagnosis and skin analysis, a vitamin C rich Rosehip oil application, and a Rose Quartz Crystal ‘Gua Sha’ face and neck massage enhanced by warm steam compresses. It not only delivered an instant glow to  my  complexion but I felt deeply relaxed – a win win!

The Space

Jamie works every Wednesday at Hinterland Osteopathy and Allied Health in Bangalow. Set in a heritage-listed historical dwelling, the vibe is calming, earthy and grounding.  Hinterland Osteopathy has a stand-out reputation for its team of experienced practitioners in Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Shiatsu and Abdominal Bodywork, Massage – and Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture!

What we love

The benefits! On-going Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture is recommended for reducing fine lines and boosting sagging skin, as well as releasing tension around the forehead, mouth and jaw area. The insertion of the fine needles stimulate blood flow, facilitate the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to facial cells, tighten and lift facial musculature, and well as promote the production of collagen and elastin. Seriously, I seemed to exhale years of tension away around my jaw area). What’s not to love about that!

Acupuncture is cumulative so it’s recommended to commit to a minimum of ten weekly sessions as collagen production is said to commence from week six. Expect to see the reduction of deep wrinkles and fine lines alongside the firming and lifting of the areas around the mouth, eye lids and jaw.  Facial Acupuncture also helps to balance the skin’s natural moisture levels, boost oxygen delivery to the skin to facilitate cellular regeneration, and brighten the complexion through increasing blood flow and QI production. It works well for reducing under eye bags and dark circles, puffiness and the appearance of age spots.

Feeling tempted? Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture is also a full body treatment. Jamie explains that imbalances in our organs such as kidney deficiency or too much heat and toxins in the liver will show up in our complexion. Her approach is to treat the issues that in turn improves our overall skin health. During your session, Jamie may also integrate other techniques such as fire cupping, moxibustion, laser acupuncture and Infrared Heat lamp (that works really well for reducing pain and inflammation such as tennis elbow).

Sometimes the needles may hurt – ouch! Oh, but so worth it!
