The Health Cove – Brunswick Heads and Cabarita Beach

This boutique wellness space set in a beautifully renovated weatherboard house offers the best of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and allied health and wellness services.

The Vibe

Founded in 2005, The Health Cove has an excellent reputation for preventative health care including Acupuncture, Osteopathy, Massage, Shiatsu Massage, Psychotherapy, Psychology, and Women’s Health and Fertility Support.

We were fortunate to receive a treatment from co-founder Dr. Chantelle Meullner, a registered Acupuncturist and Doctor of Chinese Medicine. Chantelle delivered the ‘Blend’ which is a tailored combination of remedial deep-tissue massage with cupping and acupuncture. It was amazing! A high-point is Chantelle strategically placing an Infrared Lamp over various parts of the body to warm the kidney area then moving onto the lower legs and feet, essentially keep the chi moving.

We love the ethos at The Heath Cove in that their approach is somewhat the ‘old school’ TCM way where they strive to resolve patients issues within three sessions.

The Space

Who says a TCM wellness clinic has to be ‘no-frills’? So much attention to detail has gone into the interiors. From the beautiful tiled shower room featuring a brass rain shower to the luxurious linen robes as well as thoughtfully placed hand-rolled towels and elegant trays and jugs of water, this is one of our favourite wellness spaces in the region. When you combine your treatment with the Infrared Sauna you feel like you’ve had a two-hour gorgeous spa day! Be prepared to float out of The Health Cove feeling inspired about your wellbeing and your potential.

What we love

The Infrared Sauna here is outstanding – one of the best we’ve tried. It’s made from eco-certified timbers and non-toxic glues and varnishes which is important for people who have chemical sensitivity. Essentially you sweat sweat sweat yet the heat doesn’t feel overwhelming – plus there’s a ‘cool box’ inside where you can store your phone.
