Inspiring Yoga around Byron

From forest yoga to classes offered in a bamboo tent, yoga-by-the-sea and a plethora of teacher trainings, Byron Bay is the yogi’s ultimate playground! These are a handful of yoga spaces, studios and classes we love…

Bamboo Yoga School – Byron Bay
When in Byron, make sure you try a class at this venue known as the ‘bamboo yoga temple’. Locals love this place for its simple vibe and quality Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin classes. Bamboo Yoga School is located behind the Health Lodge in Byron Bay, and offers a full schedule of yoga, meditation and teacher trainings. Want to deepen your practice? Book into one of the on-going workshops themed around Breathwork, Yoga Nidra, and more.

Creature Yoga – Byron Bay
Situated in the Arts & Industrial Estate, Creature Yoga is one of the most highly-regarded for daily yoga, teacher trainings, workshops and online trainings.  The founders are serious about the yoga path and are fully dedicated to bringing depth and meaningful yoga to students. Feel inspired that with every class, whether in-studio or online, you’ll receive the highest quality instruction and guidance.

Seeker + Kind – Mullumbimby
A good vibes yoga studio with style! Centrally located in Mullumbimby, Seeker + Kind offers quality classes led by well-trained teachers in an intimate setting. Explore a menu of Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Slow & Restorative, Restorative Yin, Gentle Yoga, Flow & Explore Kundalini and Yang to Yin. Find your kind!

Heat Yoga – Byron Bay
We love the warm-hearted vibe at Heat, Byron Bay’s premier heated yoga studio. Indeed, the warmth of the studio feels so lovely on cooler days and dramatically improves one’s flexibility. Yoga classes to explore at Heat include Bikram, Yin and Vinyasa. For a restorative class, we recommend ‘Roll and Release’ where you use various props that help one deepen into the layers of the muscle fibre and connective tissue – ideal if you suffer body pain and injuries.

Sattva Yoga Byron Bay
You can’t holiday in Byron without trying a class at Sattva Yoga Byron at the Byron Bay Surf Club situated on Main Beach in town. What makes this space a standout is the views over the endless blue. Styles range from Hatha Vinyasa, Slow and Flow and Slow and Gentle – let the sounds of the ocean wash over you as you surrender into serenity. P.S. Why not pair your class with a much-deserved massage afterwards!

Temple Byron – Byron Bay
We love the yoga space at Temple Byron not only for the variety of classes and workshops (they host Byron Katie group workshops here every Friday) but also its magical setting. Located at Temple Byron, the yoga hall is surrounded by the most beautiful forest grounds infused with crystals and water fountains. It’s truly one of the most sacred yoga spaces in the region.

The Yellow Church – Mullumbimby
The Yellow Church
is said to be Mullumbimby’s longest running yoga centre and is a locals favourite. Their ethos is to offer quality yoga in a sacred and earthy space. At the time of writing this post, the venue is hosting classes six days a week including Hatha, Dru Yoga, Vinyasa as well as Pilates.
