Sun, rain and shine – Kiva Spa is the perfect day retreat when you need to steam clean your mind, soul and spirit. Located centrally in Mullumbimby, Kiva Spa is set in a lush garden and houses an array of bathhouse facilities and healing spa. Replenish your being in the warm magnesium pools, a cold plunge, steam (hammam) and the octagonal wood fired sauna. You can also book exclusive access to the bathhouse for up to 20 pax – ideal for birthday parties and small celebrations. Wednesday evening is Women’s-only nights.

Why not take it to the next level by treating your being to a healing massage before or after your bathhouse experience (you deserve it). The menu includes everything from Remedial, Deep Tissue, Kahuna, Sports and Pregnancy massages.

The Space
Kiva Spa is a sanctuary of lush Balinese-style tropical gardens and bamboo greenery. There’s day beds and lounges to relax and lounge about in-between your steam and hot and cold pools. This isn’t your silent type spa, however, as Kiva is busy, fun, friendly and communal. You are bound to hear a multitude of languages being spoken plus interact with people from all walks of life. That said, if you need downtime, the sauna is a no-talking zone.

What we love
The price! For $30, enjoy a full hour of the Bathhouse facilities or pay $50 and relax and regenerate for two hours. In our opinion, Kiva Spa is one of the best budget wellness experiences in the area. We also love that it’s open seven days a week from 10am-9pm.

What’s not to love
If you seek a luxury five-star setting, then Kiva Spa may not be for you. This place is all about providing wellness in a simple and low-key environment. Make sure you leave any valuables at home as there’s no locker facilities here – only communal ones.
